An illustration class project based on a Portland Mercury article about a Filipino food month called “Sobrang Sarap,” or “very delicious.” I chose to illustrate this article as an opportunity to highlight aspects of Filipino culture that exist in Portland in a fun, lively way, and invite viewers to pick up a copy and learn more.
To go with the cover is a lively spot illustration of a glass of calamansi juice, a refreshing drink similar to lemonade and a popular pairing with Filipino cuisine.
